Project Collaboration with Distributed Design Platform World Crafts Council Europe
In a strategic partnership med at bridging the gap between traditional crafts and innovative digital technologies, Fab Lab Barcelona is collaborating with the Distributed Design Platform and the World Crafts Council Europe. This initiative seeks to empower craft practitioners by integrating advanced Information and Communication Technology ICT tools into their work. The objective is to foster creative innovation that merges cutting-edge digital fabrication techniques with established craft-making practices.
The Distributed Design Platform, coordinated by Fab Lab Barcelona at IAAC, was established in 2017 through a Creative Europe programme funded by the European Union. It gathers a diverse network of 17 cultural and creative institutions across 13 European countries. This collaboration focuses on developing improved products, services, and professional opportunities for craft practitioners through:

The core program features a two-month online masterclass series held during February and March 2023. Each session is designed to challenge conventional thinking and explore new territories in the realm of creative industries.
